What, G1 For Free????
October 31st, 2008 | by Rosemary Rey |Yesterday marked the start of the first Android powered handset to be released across the United Kingdom. Android fans queued from 5am at T-Mobile’s Oxford Street store in London to be amongst the first people to get their hands on the G1. So the U.S. may have gotten the G1 a week before the rest of the world, but the U.K. definately recieved the price advatage.
According to T-mobile, the G1 is available for FREE, that’s right folks FREE on T-Mobile Combi and Flexi price plans from £40 a month with an 18 month contract, while many of us ponied up the $179 with a 24 month contract. Plus, the U.K. gets dibbs on either a black or the mythical WHITE G1, which won’t be available in the U.S. until Thanksgiving. And that’s not all, the U.K. G1 comes equipped with a 2GB micro SD card, while we silly americans only recieved a 1GB card. What’s this all about?? I would have gladly waited an extra 8 days for my G1 if it was WHITE with a 2GB SD card and FREE with an 18 month contract, now i just feel cheated.  AAARGH!
