Google’s Voice Search Hits iPhone & Not G1??!!??
November 17th, 2008 | by Rosemary Rey |Could be Google’s most innovative and groundbreaking app to date and it goes directly to the iPhone completely disregarding Google’s own Android based G1, no questions asked & no looking back. This app allows users to say a search query into their phone and have it transcribed and returned as a Web search.Â
“I want to bring the most valuable applications to as many users as possible,” said Gummi Hafsteinsson, senior product manager for the mobile team. “We treat all high-end [mobile] platforms equally.” The G1 does come equipped with voice dialing something the iPhone lacks, but, there is no possible voice search of this magnitude available for download for the G1. “We’re obviously working hard to add as many devices as possible,” Hafsteinsson said. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed, in hopes that the G1 does eventually get graced with this life altering app a.s.a.p…..As for the iphone, Google’s voice app was supposed to be available for download last friday 11/14 and has been delayed until today.
