Tips to Save Your Smartphone’s Battery Life

 

Smartphones are symbols of communication and style. Whatever the reason for having one, you must keep an eye on battery life to ensure that your device will be juiced up throughout the day for sending emails, listening to music, web browsing and more! 

Here’s some general tips on how to extend the battery life of your favorite smartphone: 

• Extend your battery life by using only the charger meant for it. Charge it for 4-5 hours without using it and also keep the battery contacts clean. Always make sure that the phone is charged fully before setting out. 

• Don’t download animated wallpapers and screensavers; they drain more power. Also, keep the pre-loaded ringtones in your phone and don’t be tempted to add a Ricky Martin or a Shakira song. They also take up more power than the standard.   
  

• Bluetooth headsets also need more power as it has to communicate with the cell towers and the Bluetooth device. So, turn your Bluetooth setting off if you’re not planning to use it. 

• Save your phone’s battery power by keeping the backlight contrast to the lowest visible setting that is comfortable for you. 

• Yes, camera phones are in vogue but try to regulate how you use it and know that it will also drain battery life pretty fast. Also, save the photo editing for your PC to save on battery life.   

• Keep a tab on GPS, Wi-Fi, and Push email and keep them turned off when not required/in use. These go on searching for updates and devices and consume power in the process.

 For you BlackBerry users out there, here’s some tips to keep your BlackBerry battery working hard for you: 

• The Li-Ion battery in the BlackBerry should be recharged often and well before complete discharge or it will get damaged. If you use your device constantly then definitely keep a spare battery with you at all times. 

• The auto on/off feature in the BlackBerry lets you keep the phone ‘on’ only at designated times of the day giving your battery a break. 

• Another cool tip…BlackBerry experts say that it is better to delete messages after replying to them for extending your battery life.
