The Palm Pre is Going Android

Exciting news for Palm/Android enthusiasts the world over, it seems that the Palm Pre will be able in fact to dual-boot both Web OS and the Android platform!! Texas Instruments, creators of OMAP3, which is the power source behind the Palm Pre released a “Zoom OMAP34x Mobile Development Kit” giving developers the key to develop software for their new CPU lineup. This in turn bred Omapzoom, making open source operating systems possible for any device running OMAP3. There are still things to be worked out, nevertheless, this is a great step in the “open source” direction!
