New For YouTubers On The Go!

A new version of YouTube mobile is available for most WinMo based phones and Symbian Series 60 phones. Youtube has been available for some phones in the past, but this new version will allow WindowsMobile phones to start up the application faster. So I decided to try it out and it works very smoothly on my HTC Touch phone. The download took  7 seconds, start up took 3 seconds, and searching about 5 seconds, and when I was ready to view a video it took only 3 seconds to load and play. Streaming was a ok since it buffered 5 times throughout a 2 minute video but it did not take long for the video to keep playing. The video quality is better but it also depends on what type of screen your phone has. Overall the app looks and performs well. 

The download is available at m.youtube.com from your phone and downloading is a one click thing. Updates will automatically alert you through the app. So when you are bored waiting for someone who “will be there in 5 minutes”,  you can use the application to entertain yourself when caught in boredom.
