Google Latitude for iPhone
July 25th, 2009 | by Jhananthi Janakiraman |Google Latitude for iPhone and iPod Touch is now available to you as a Web application running in Safari. The Latitude Web app promises all that you need to locate your friends on a map. You can set your privacy settings such that you can share your location info to a select few only.
Go traveling with Search and Directions functionality. All you have to do is press the “blue dot” and be shown your current location on the map with My location. This is due to Safari which supports the W3C Geolocation API.
Type google.com/latitude into your iPhone’s browser and get a trial of Google Latitude. iPhone users can now look forward to native apps like Earth and YouTube besides Web apps like Gmail and Latitude.
If not able to launch the Latitude app directly from your home screen add a bookmark to the home screen by opening Latitude in Safari and tapping the +icon > Add to Home Screen >Add.
