T-Mobile myTouch 3G Targets the Mass-Market
June 24th, 2009 | by Jhananthi Janakiraman |myTouch 3G is seen as a second phase in T-Mobile’s Android project and is aimed at a wider market than before. You can expect the phone to appeal to a mass-market with premium features and with Google Mobile services.
Priced at $199 with a two-year service agreement the myTouch 3G also joins the race between iPhone 3GS and the Palm Pre also equally priced.
However we heard that the myTouch’s paltry hardware matches that of the 8GB iPhone 3G selling at $99 (last year’s model). The only difference being a 4GB expandable slot included in the myTouch for additional external memory capacity. Â
Although the Google Android phone G1 created waves before hitting stores with the new open source OS, reviews were not as positive as expected. The original G1 was focused on developers and the tech savvy and it boasted of only 5,000 available applications and 10,000 registered developers then.
Let’s see if HTC’s second generation Andriod phone will be able to reach the masses.
