Windows Mobile 6.5 Beta Testing in Progress

A perk of working for a company like Microsoft is being able to test out the latest and greatest developments. Case in point, there are some employees playing around with the soon-to-be launched Windows Mobile 6.5 OS for smartphones. 

This beta testing phase signals that the operating system for mobile devices will be launching sooner than later – ideally expected in 3rd QTR of 2009. 

Needless to say, Microsoft has a lot riding on this new OS and hopes that it can help regain some marketshare that they have lost to Google’s Android OS and Apple’s iPhone OS. With the recent annoucement of iPhone 3.0 OS, there will definitely be pressure on the new Windows Mobile operating system to perform.
