iPhone graces the cover of The New Yorker in a surprising way

Well, the iPhone by Apple has now graced the cover of the popular biweekly publication, the New Yorker. It may not be much, but take a better look… Can’t find it in the picture? Well, that’s because it isn’t in the painting, it made the painting! This illustration was done completely on the iPhone. An amazing feat that apparently only took an hour, while the creator, Jorge Colmbo, was simply waiting in line. I must applaud him for his ingenuity, artistic talent, and hand-eye coordination.
The “painting” was done completely by hand, or more appropriately, by finger. No brushes, no nothing; aside from the actual typography the piece was done entirely on the phone. You can even purchase the application he used, called simply Brushes. It’s available on the Apple App Store for just $4.99 if you want to give it a shot and try to make your own publication worthy murals.
Don’t believe him or me? Well, Brushes also records the full process of the painting! Go after the jump to see how it was created using this cool app.
