Apple’s laughing it up on the way to the bank
August 12th, 2008 | by Pallavi Dinesh |Remember when iPhone Apps was first revealed to the world? Steve Jobs said that Apple would keep 70% of the revenue generated. Well, according to sources that’s about $1Million per day right now and that figure is only expected to grow.
As more and more apps get added to the offerings every day, iPhone users are getting addicted to downloading them non-stop. Sure, there’s plenty of good stuff to download for free but there’s also plenty of useless stuff that people are paying for.
Case in point, the HelpMe app costs you only .99c which doesn’t seem like that much. However, what’s the point of throwing away your dollar? All it is a speed-dial for your iPhone when you need to call for help. Instead of spending your dollar why not dial 9-1-1 for emergencies like we’ve been taught to do since elementary school? Â
