Apple gets sued for iPhone 3G problems

August 21st, 2008 | by Pallavi Dinesh |

Jessica Alena Smith is upset and suing Apple because of problems with her phone’s reception. Her court order is seeking to force Apple to repair/replace any parts that aren’t working plus monetary damages. Apparently she is also making a claim that the case deserves class-action status.

Whether the issues are Apple’s fault (ie, problem with the devices’ Infineon chips) or issues related to AT&T’s network no one is really sure…

Apple has released several firmware updates for the phone, as recent as last weekend. However customers are still complaining of numerous problems. The company at first not did say what bugs the updates fix but finally confirmed 3G reception as one of the issues to the Associated Press. No comment yet from Apple regarding the lawsuit.
