Â
Kingston Technology has jumped on the green bandwagon. I think its great that they decided to minimize their waste and maximize their green share in the world. Well at least they’ve done so with their memory card packaging. Their packaging used to look like it consisted of probably 110% plastic all for one small SD card and 2 slots. Now they have changed their packaging to recycled cardboard (above). Kingston Technology company has undergone some changes and implemented programs to make the world a little greener. So when you buy a memory consider getting a Kingston one, and technically you’d be helping this environment too. Your green packaged memory card is available here.

I own an HTC Touch, and lately it has been acting up a a bit. It’ll freeze out of nowhere, battery life doesn’t seem to last as much, and it’s slower than usual. So I took it to a local Sprint Store, where they suggested that I should upgrade the software to the latest Windows Mobile 6.1.

Ok so there’s a new memory card in town and its bringing 16GB to the table. Fommy.com now carries the new Sandisk 16GB MicroSD card. Now to me that’s a lot of memory we are talking about. Can you imagine how many songs that would fit into my phone? Not to mention games, apps, pictures, and all sorts of other things. Up until now the highest memory card capacity was 8GB. So doubling the previous card, will this new 16GB card be popular? If only my phone were equipped to hold 16gb of memory, but unfortunately it isn’t (I’ve heard Nokia’s ‘Tube’ supports up to 16GB). While I can’t use it on my phone, I can still use it on my digital camera, camcorder or even one of those digital picture frames.
Although it is a good accessory to have if you’re in need of storage, this little card comes with a big price tag. I guess it all depends on how bad you need it. I’m going to stick to my 1gb for now until holiday sales season comes around.
