I went to the Sprint website to browse for a smartphone for holiday gifting. The options are a bit limited with this carrier for a good all around phone and the two best ones that I saw are coincidentally made by the same company, HTC. Check out this link for full list of Sprint’s smartphones.

Apple is getting sued again by Long Island resident, Avi Koschitski claiming that Apple was and is aware of hairline cracks in the iPhone’s casing, and yet they are still selling them to the public. Shame on you Apple! The pictures look pretty bad and if it were my phone I would be one angry customer as well.

“Fifty-six percent of mobile subscribers would agree to view ads on their phones in exchange for a 25 percent to 50 percent discount on their monthly bill according to a new consumer study commissioned by open source solutions provider Transverse and conducted by market strategy consultancy iGR.”- Fierce Mobile
What do I say to that? Sign me up! Is that even a question to ask. What a silly survey.
I think most people, except for the super-rich, won’t mind saving a few bucks to see some ads. We have to watch them on TV anyways right? So why not on the cell phone too….

First looks can be deceptive, so it seems with the clamshell BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. Many feel that BlackBerry should have gone with a Slider form factor and not Flip, as sliders are more popular in a full keypad market.
Quite a large phone even when folded it is a far cry from the rest of the phones introduced by RIM with respect to looks. The design is a combo of a dignified upper half and a cheaper looking lower half. Matching classy design for the two parts would have made it look and feel great.

Some of you might remember the piece I wrote on Nokia a few months ago. Well fast forward to the end of 2008 (can you believe the year has gone so fast?) and the fact that Nokia just announced it’s going to ramp up R&D for US market. Well, it’s about time people. What were you waiting for before?Â

One thing we won’t be giving thanks for this year, is the delay in the White G1’s re-debut. Rumor is that the T-Mobile White G1 won’t be making it in time for Thanksgiving holiday, raggedy news for those waiting to get their hands on the ” great white”.Â

Watch out Apple iPhone… a new smartphone has just been released in India and it’s a keeper. The Sony Ericsson Xperia launched today for 44,500 rupees and it’s going head to head against the iPhone that was launched earlier this year.Â

Apple iPhone sales haven’t been that great, partly due to the prohibitive cost as well as lack of 3G network capabilities.
