Gwabbit for Outlook & Blackberry
May 20th, 2009 | by Prachi Mehta |Here comes another handy Blackberry app, but this time it is a business app, useful for all types of users. Basically, gwabbit is a handy plug-in that saves a good deal of your time whenever you wish to add contacts in Microsoft Outlook on the fly, as you don’t need to cut-and-paste anything, but simply add a contact with just one click. Just recently announced at WES, you can read the full press release here.
Unfortunately, such a facility was not available in Outlook by default, and hence even when you try to use Outlook for the Blackberry devices, you’ll have a hard time sequentially adding about 50 contacts.
The gwabbit for BlackBerry does the same, just what it does for the Outlook, and lets you save email contacts on the fly with one-click operation. It supports most of the versions of the Microsoft Outlook, right from 2000, Office XP, 2003, down to the Office 2007. Gwabbit for BlackBerry is compatible with all the Blackberry devices operating on the BlackBerry OS 4.21 platform and higher versions, though unfortunately, there’s nothing for the Mac users at this point of time.
There has been no sign of adverse affect of installation of this plug-in on PC performance; though presence of another similar plug-in called Xobni has been reported to slow down the PC a bit. So, it would be a good idea to get rid of the Xobni and use Gwabbit.Â
It has several tiny impressive features to ease the process of adding contacts, and after installation it is ready-to-use through the Outlook toolbar and you don’t need to take the pain of launching a separate app every time.
