July 27th, 2009 | by Pallavi Dinesh |
T-Mobile USA and Research In Motion today announced the new BlackBerry Curve 8520. The smartphone is going to be released on August 5 and priced very nicely at $129.99 with a standard two-year contract. The phone will be available in 2 colors: frost and black.
This will be RIM’s first model that replaces the infamous trackball navigator with a touch-sensitive optical trackpad. Let’s see how consumers react to this changover. The rest of the features are standard. For world travelers, this is a great phone (quad-band) with built-in Wi-Fi allowing you to take advantage of hot spots.
Additional features:
- 2-megapixel camera
- Bluetooth 2.0
- Facebook and MySpace mobile apps
- support for BlackBerry App World
- microSD expansion slot
