Barnes & Noble have added support for the Google Play store to their Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets which in the past were limited to B&N’s own content store. Nook HD/+ owners will now be able to access over 700,000 applications as well as loads of music, books, magazines and more. B&N will also be bringing the Google Chrome browser to its tablets in addition to GMail, Google Maps, Google Search and YouTube applications. The move will certainly make the Nook HD a more noticeable option for prospective tablet buyers.
Current Nook HD and HD+ users will get the new capabilities through an upcoming software update and new tablets will come with the features pre-installed.
