Apple iOS 6.1.2 update available

Apple today released an update to its latest version of iOS, iOS 6.1.2 which is compatible with all iOS 6 devices.

Fommy has a wide variety of quality Apple accessories, including iPhone 5 accessories.

The Over The Air update is only 12.6MB and Apple says that it will only fix a single bug; “Fixes and Exchange calendar bug that could result in increased network activity and reduced battery life.” There are no mentions of any security updates so jailbreaks should not have an issue, but Evasi0n has just released Evasi0n 1.4 for iOS 6.1.2 devices. No word on whether or not the security passcode bug has been fixed either and Apple has remained mum on the matter.

Is Apple about to lose it’s iPhone trademark in Brazil?

iPhone 5

According to Reuters, Apple Inc. is about to suffer a major setback in Latin America as the Brazilian Institute of Intellectual Property is set to rule on a case regarding it’s popular iPhone line of smart phones.

In 2000, seven years before Apple announced the iconic Apple iPhone, Gradiente Electronica SA, registered the ‘iPhone’ trademark in Brazil, but it was only twelve years later in December 2012 that they finally unveiled their Gradiente iphone NeoOne, an Android powered entry-level smart phone.

On February 13, the Brazilian Institute of Intellectual Property will make its ruling public, and apparently the odds are against Apple this time around. A ruling against Apple may force them to pay royalties to Gradiente for each Apple iPhone sold in Brazil, one of the fastest growing mobile markets in the world.

Apple will of course be able to appeal the ruling, but a positive outcome for the Cupertino based giant seems highly unlikely. Of course you can keep your Apple iPhone out of harms way with these iPhone 5 accessories.
