Evasi0n jailbreak reaches 23 million iOS users, 14 million iOS 6

Evasi0n, one of the most popular iOS jailbreaking tools to date, has just released some figures regarding their jailbreak’s usage.

Fommy has a wide variety of quality Apple accessories, including iPhone 5 accessories.

Evad3rs member, pod3g, tweeted some statistics regarding the tool’s popularity amongst iOS users. According to him there are over 23 million iOS devices that has been jailbroken with Evasi0n, with over 14 million of those devices being devices that run iOS 6 or higher. It’s quite a jump from the 7 million iOS 6 users within the first four days of the jailbreak’s availability and Apple’s next iOS 6 update, iOS 6.1.3, is said to bring a fix that will render the tool useless. Knowing jailbreakers though, an update should arrive shortly thereafter.

Can Microsoft Surface have an edge over iPad when it comes to pricing?

There are lots or rumors going around the internet about pricing of Microsoft Surface some make sense, some are totally off target! Here is on such result of speculation I stumbled upon, but based on inputs from sources, industry analysis and common sense this one does seem to make a lot of sense!

Microsoft Surface ARM (Windows 8 RT) variant for $599 with an option for buyers to either choose the touch keyboard or the tactile keyboard.

Comparing the Apple iPad with the Surface – assuming this speculation does turn out to be true, Microsoft certainly does seem to have an edge over Apple! Only time will tell!

Apple Maps for iOS 6 use TomTom navigation and mapping data

iPhone 4SIf like me you too were wondering where did Apple get all the required cartographic data to put together a brilliant turn-by-turn navigation application, well – we have an answer – TomTom. The mapping giant TomTom issued a statement hours after WWDC saying that they “have signed a global agreement with Apple for maps and related information”. This is certainly a very interesting move as this completely cuts of Google’s involvement on the iOS 6 platform (Yes, Apple could have chose Google as the data provider for the iOS 6 maps – but, that would be super counter productive!).

Though TomTom’s coverage is not half as extensive as that of Google’s but with Apple backing TomTom – things can only get better for them. Interesting map wars ahead!
