If you thought unlimited data was history, Sprint comes to save the day. According to Bloomberg and unnamed sources, Sprint will be getting the iPhone 5 and still continue to offer its unlimited voice and data services. Many consider this to be a major advantage over giants like AT&T and Verizon, which completely removed their unlimited data and replaced them with tiered plans.
Although many iPhone users on AT&T and Verizon are already grandfathered onto their unlimited data plans, Sprint will still have the upper-hand when it comes to new customers shopping for Apple’s next generation model. In addition, Sprint also doesn’t throttle its users either, so there are plenty of reasons people may switch over. Data is essential for smartphones to function the way they do, and it’s unfortunate that carriers other than Sprint have stopped offering unlimited data for its customers. Time will only tell how long Sprint will continue to stick by its word, but according to its CEO Dan Hesse, unlimited data won’t last forever.
