Mobile Search is key for Google
January 25th, 2009 | by Pallavi Dinesh |Google was well aware from a few years ago that the future of search is in the hands of people, literally, as they move more towards mobile search via smartphones. This statement couldn’t have been more apparent in their earnings call earlier this week.Â
“More people are searching from mobile phones. Our objective is to make search from a mobile phone as fast and easy as possible,” Google senior vice president of product management Jonathan Rosenberg said during Thursday’s earnings call.
In addition, Rosenberg claims that T-Mobile’s G1 featuring Google’s Android mobile operating system has “done very well.” And the good news for google is that more Android based phones are in the works and to be released in 2009. The spread of their Android OS and google search is only going to help them in retaining their record as the #1 search engine worldwide.Â
Schmidt later said that Google has already seen billions of page impressions via the G1 as per Alley Insider.
