Verizon Wireless puts BlackBerry Storm on Sale

February 9th, 2009 | by Pallavi Dinesh |

Verizon Wireless for the first time ever has put a smartphone, namely the BlackBerry Storm, on the buy-one-get-one-of-equal-or-lesser-value-for-free promotion at its retail stores.

This news seems especially shocking since many people thought that the touch screen smartphone from RIM was doing just well selling on its own. Already heavily subsidized and promoted by Verizon, the BlackBerry Storm now is available for $199.99 with a 2 year contract and with the opportunity to get one more for free.

Whose ever idea this was – it was a good one and it surely gives Apple something to think about since they were so gee golly happy when they had announced the price drop on the iPhone 3G last year to $199 when it previewed. I’m sure they’re at their offices now trying to figure out their next move!

By the way, this is a great gift just in time for Valentine’s Day, get one for yourself and one for your sweetheart! A matching pair for a match made in heaven.
