BlackBerry Storm 2 Rumor
April 7th, 2009 | by Chris Speight |
According the SlashGear, their actually may be some validity to the Storm’s disontinuation. Verizon/RIM apparently have plans in the works to release BlackBerry Storm 2 in September, and the really big news is that It’ll have wifi.
“According to a source very close to the issue, Verizon has given the go for RIM to release the BlackBerry Storm 2 in September of this year. The followup to the groundbreaking Storm that was released last year as the first touchscreen Blackberry, SlashGear has been told that the new Storm 2 addresses one of the biggest criticisms of the first smartphone and of Verizon devices in general, in that it will support WiFi.”
They are very sure of their source, but I’d recommend you still take this with a grain of salt. I definitely have no doubts such a device is in the works, but considering Verizon’s odd non-existent relationship with wi-fi in their devices, I would be quite surprised to see it implemented on this device. But that would be a good surprise, both for me and all the Verizon customers who are missing out on such a great feature.
