Finally BlackBerry users were provided with the long-awaited 4.7.0.148 patch, which could fix most of the existing problems in the BlackBerry Storm. So, let’s look at some of the noticeable outcomes of the application of this patch on to the device.
Firstly, the capability to make use of full QWERTY keyboard even in portrait mode has been improvised, and the camera menu has become transparent, which has also resulted in a faster camera operation too.
However, even useless things like the new ‘Phone’ icon have been included as a part of the update, which don’t really serve any purpose. In this case, one could easily tap ‘send’ button to use phone, rather than clicking on this new icon, which replaced the older “Call Log” icon.
While you’re surfing the net, with the help of a web browser, then a green-glowing “Go” button can be seen in replace of the “Enter” button. Apart from these noticeable improvements, there are several other betterments in the performance, and the 4.7.0.148 patch has almost succeeded in taking care of the existing bugs.
As RIM and Verizon are still busy testing for any left out bugs, the chances are high that somebody or the other will discover a few at least, nevertheless the overall dissatisfaction of the Storm users has been almost taken care of. And, this surely means a whole lot of relief for RIM too.
