Palm Pre Impresses the Crowds, But Is It An iPhone Killer?

So, the Palm Pre has been out for a week as of today and what’s the word on the street? What’s the verdict? Is it the iPhone killer that we have all been waiting for? Well consumers are definitely impressed with the new smartphone in many ways and a lot of it has to do with the WebOS. Here’s a quick run down of what people actually like about the Palm Pre:
1. For starters, the Palm Pre’s screen is amazing and a lot of people actually love the pocketable size of the phone. iPhone maybe all that but when it comes to size it is a bit bulky isn’t it?
2. Palm Pre is also nicely packaged, albeit it feels a bit lightweight and cheap to some, but still packs in some great features.
3. The ability to sync almost instantly to iTunes gives some all of us power to finally move over from an iPhone doesn’t it? I hooked up the Palm Pre to my iTunes and it downloaded the songs and other audio files right away which is a great out-of-the-box feature.
4. In terms of functionality, the device’s keyboard takes some getting used to and I still prefer the BlackBerry keyboard, say on an 8900 Curve or even the BlackBerry Bold. This ones is a bit smaller and awkward to cradle at first. Again, it will just take some getting used to.
