June 17th, 2009 | by Jhananthi Janakiraman |The first Samsung Omnia was a mega-hit and why not? It ’s a great phone! So, naturally any fan is definitely exited with the new phones introduced by Samsung. Four new models were added to the Omnia line of handsets.
Three of the Omnia models feature the AMOLED touch screen while the fourth one the OmniaLITE has an LCD screen. The models seem to have been differentiated slightly so as to be suitable for users of different profiles.
The Omnia II i8000 and OmniaLITE B7300 look similar and are like the Samsung Impression. The OmniaPRO B7320 is more like a BlackBerry with a QWERTY keyboard on the front. The OmniaPRO B7610 is different with a slide-out landscape QWERTY keyboard.
The Omnia launched earlier runs on Windows Mobile 6.1. The good news is all the new Omnias are Windows Mobile 6.5-ready.
The Omnia II has a 3.7 inches AMOLED touch sensitive display with a resolution of 400 x 800 pixels, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps, the TouchWiz 2.0 3D user interface, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, Wi-Fi, video recording, interactive 3D games and a memory of 48 GB.
The Omnia LITE sports HSDPA, Wi-Fi, assisted GPS, the Opera browser, 3 megapixel camera and multi-codec supported video.
Like the newly announced Samsung Jet the pricing and availability of these phone remains a mystery.
