BlackBerry Tour Facts and Rumors

While the recently announced details of the BlackBerry Tour made most of us salivate, some new information about Sprint, who is carrying this smartphone has leaked out. As per a FierceWireless article, it seems that Sprint had to go above and beyond and promise Research In Motion (RIM) that they would book an x number of sales (Sprint decline to comment, of course) and undertake massive promotions in order to secure the device for the same launch as Verizon Wireless.

Sprint it seems has been trying to do whatever it can to hold on to its meager marketshare and has been working hard in 2009 to stay in the game. Can the recent launch of the Palm Pre and this new  BlackBerry Tour be enough to get them out of their financial woes?

Whatever the case may be, the BlackBerry Tour is a much anticipated participant in the summer smartphones wars that are currently underway. The Tour will be available at Sprint for $199.99 and also at Verizon Wireless for the same price.
