T-Mobile MyTouch 3G

The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G smartphone will be available from tomorrow for sale. This is the hotly awaited sequel to the first Android phone the T-Mobile G1 (aka Google phone). Pre-orders for this phone started just about under a month ago and interest has definitely peaked among consumers since the G1 also generated a lot of sales through its pre-order program. We’ve covered the phone’s details before but a quick reminder here to let you know that the MyTouch 3G is all touch screen, leaving that bulky keyboard behind that the G1 has. This phone is in direct competition with consumers favorites like the iPhone 3G S and Palm Pre and BlackBerry Storm. The improved Android OS and the new slim design will definitely catch eyes. The G1 was seem more of as a test phone or developer phone since the device, designed by HTC, was really a bare bones model.
It’s no secret that the G1 leaves a lot to be desired but I really think that since last Fall, when the phone had launched, both HTC and Google have learned a thing or two and are geared to please the consumers with the MyTouch 3G.
Needless to say, this phone will be priced at $199.99 since most new phones launching now-days don’t have the option to price it any higher if they want to remain competitive in this market. Â While HTC is so far the only company to come out with Android based smartphones, there has been a lot of talk of Android OS phones launching from Samsung, Motorola, and others sometime in 2009.
