BlackBerry Storm Price Drops to $50 at Verizon Wireless

Yes, it’s a good day folks. The pricing for the first touch-screen BlackBerry smartphone, which debuted last November at Verizon Wireless, is now at $50 … or rather $49.99 to be exact. A few months ago, Verizon Wireless started promotions of buy one get one free on the BlackBerry Storm and other BlackBerry smartphones and recently had dropped the price of all phones to $99.
Whether the wireless carrier is trying to attract more wireless users to its network or is trying to clear out inventory for new and upcoming models expected later this year, like the BlackBerry Storm 2, for example, is still a mystery. Whatever the reason, it’s all good news for consumers. However, I caution you. The BlackBerry Storm has had its fair share of bugs and regardless of the numerous software updates, the device is still not as great as it should be.
My advice would be to take a good look at your wallet. If $50 is all that you can afford and are willing to put up with some minor headaches then go for the current version of the BlackBerry Storm. However, if you can manage to hold out until October or so, then you might just be able to get your hands on the new and improved BlackBerry Storm 2.
