Apple announces iOS 6Apple today along with new notebooks unveiled iOS 6 – the operating system which powers your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV just got updated! iOS 6 is available starting today for Apple developers, will roll out as a free update for all iOS device owners starting July. iOS 6 has about 200 new features, some very innovative and detailed; and some are those which were missing till now!   • Siri enhancements – Lots of new languages, sports, food and movies are Siri’s specialty now.

  • Facebook integration – Deep rooted integration, so much so that everything is one click, even unified notifications manager.

  • Refreshed Phone App – Text Reject, Remind Me, Do Not Disturb

  • FaceTime and Apple ID / phone number integration

  • Safari Update with direct photo uploader

  • Shared Photo Streams

  • Mail sync with Mountain Lion and VIP contact

  • Passbook – App to store all your passes at one place

  • Guided Access

  • Maps with turn-by-turn navigation and Flyover – Google Maps competitor in 3D

  • Lost Mode – Enhanced find my iPhone app

Thats’s all worth highlighting – the key things to look out for here have to be Maps and improved Siri!
