For those history lovers, world war geeks and military aspirants, this is the game for you. Shoot at the enemy lurking around the corner, lob artillery shells into far away hills, drive tanks over hills and down valleys without so much as stepping out of your room.
Tank Ace 1944 will make you a commander of a World War II tank attacking the enemy capital City. You may be in an Allied forces or Soviet Tank advancing on Berlin. In turn German Aces advance to London or Moscow. What ever, you are in the line of fire.
At the end of each round you should have cleared the enemy for you to advance. Are you adept at handling a gun, navigating directions and good at driving, then this game will sure excite you.
You can keep tabs of enemies left, rounds remaining, fuel and armor strength. Supplies can be replenished by ramming an enemy truck. As easy as that.
So prove yourself with this game and advance towards the enemy capitol and occupy it before the reverse happens.
The feature set lets you elect from being one of three aces, Allied, German or Soviet. Go for the tank of your choice, Sherman, Tiger or T34. Besides there is the destroyable 3D landscape, perspective or overhead view, three difficulty settings, enemy trucks carrying fuel, rounds and armor. You can also save and resume game later.
Trial version can be downloaded from RESETgames and the key can be bought for unlocking the full game.
Tank Ace 1944 is compatible with Palm branded devices running OS 5.2 or higher. The game is available for BlackBerry, Samsung Instinct and Windows Mobile as well.
Tank Ace 1944 is also available for the iPhone on the App Store for $9.99. Controls are touch-based and gamer can control movement of the tank to all sides with independent control for the turret. Both portrait and landscape orientations are supported on the iPhone.
Some users feel the browser version is faster than the iPhone version. Also the terrain is not entirely dynamic and is not quite real time in the iPhone version.
