Snapkeys 2i Invisible Keyboard Demo at CTIA 2011

Let's face it, typing on your tablet isn't exactly as fast as your regular keyboard.  So the folks over at Snapkeys have developed an innovative new method of inputing texts on tablets.  For years people have been figuring out a way to type without the 300 buttons on a keyboard, and these programmers may have found it.  They even tested out the invisible keys method with 5th graders to essentially prove how easy and effective it was to type.  Even the person in the video demonstrating the Snapkeys 2i is a child!  It may look a big complicated at first, but maybe one day it'll catch on and become a standard for tablets everywhere.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Hands-On at CTIA in HD

Having a Galaxy Tab in more than one flavor may actually turn out to be a good idea.  Samsung recently announced the 10.1 version of the Galaxy Tab at the MWC, but now Fommy gets to try out the device up close and personal at CTIA 2011.  The feature-rich tablet has a 10.1" (WXGA TFT LCD) display with crystal clear 1280 x 800 resolution.

It also includes dual surround-sound speakers to immerse you in media content straight from your device.  Another addition is the 8 megapixel (Most powerful at the moment) and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat.  It looks like a higher resolution screen and camera from the Galaxy Tab series may give Apple some serious competition.

First of all, if you are an iPhone application developer, you need to make sure your applications are compatible with the upcoming 3.0 version of the operating system. If the applications you submit are not, they will be rejected, and eventually if your old applications aren’t modified to work with 3.0 (most applications will not need to be modified), they will be pulled from the store, so you might want to get cracking and check both new and old applications if you make your living doing that kind of thing.

WWDC09 Gets Official

wwdc09

Apple has official opened the proverbial gate for the 2009 WWDC (WorldWide Developers Confrence). The confrence will take place from June 8-12 as the typical place, the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Tickets are available now, and have a price of $1295 until April 24, at which time it will increase by another $300; so tardiness is punished… severely.

Regardless of the hefty price tag, expect a lot of great news from this event, possibly even the unveiling of a new device (or even (s)). So look forward to June Apple fans!
