AT&T makes case for merger with T-Mobile

With so much riding on the back of a merger with T-Mobile, AT&T is attempting to make its case heard loud and clear.  They claim that the acquisition would enable 4G LTE to 97% of the U.S. population, up from earlier estimates of 93%, and even create jobs and spark growth in rural areas.   AT&T filed documents with the FCC Thursday regarding details of the merger with Deutshe Telekom owned T-Mobile and hopes the files will help garner support for their plans.  If you’re still left in the dark about how the merger will affect you, then check out my previous blog entitled, “AT&T and T-Mobile merger, will customers benefit from a super-carrier?.”  You can also check out the full release below for more details. Could the AT&T and T-Mobile merger increase rates?

A match made in heaven…or so they hope.  There are many people questioning whether the proposed AT&T and T-Mobile merger will force a rate increase onto its customers.  More features and improved service quality may come at a higher price according to NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, plus it seems like he’s not the only one who may be against the deal.  Less competition usually doesn’t end well for the little guy and the $39 billion dollar merger could cause some major headaches for customers.   Read more
